Campaign Goal: $

Let's Make a Difference

Aloha,

As we emerge from the most isolating aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is clear the last two years have taken a toll. Hawaii’s people and economy have suffered. With continued health and economic pressures, we are again asked to make decisions today that will impact our community’s well-being tomorrow. The donation you make today will make a difference for someone tomorrow. You are investing in our collective future.

As our state’s dedicated public servants, you have risen to the challenge repeatedly. You’ve responded to 39 declared emergencies during my administration and worked through complex problems under harsh conditions to deliver much-needed services to our people. You responded when change was necessary. You’ve provided your financial support, not because it is your job, but because it helps your community.

Funds contributed by state employees to Aloha United Way (AUW) provide services that go beyond what we can offer as state workers. Your donations provide food, shelter, childcare, education, and emergency services that are necessary. Your donations fuel systemic change for those left behind and under-supported. As state workers you are essential. So are the services that AUW and our community non-profits provide. Every donation through this campaign matters.

I understand these are difficult times, and I firmly believe that our collective response is the best path forward. In reflecting on my years in office, I’m most proud of the way the people of Hawaiʻi have pulled together to address the challenges that have confronted us. From the COVID-19 pandemic to volcanic eruptions and torrential rains, the people of Hawaiʻi responded to every challenge with resiliency and compassion. Together, we can continue to do great things.

With warmest regards,

Governor David Ige
